Description
The Town of Creston is governed by an elected Town Council with Councillors and a Mayor. Councillors are elected for four-year terms. Currently, the Mayor also serves as a Director with the Regional District of Central Kootenay.
Meetings are held in the Council Chambers, which is located on the lower level of Town Hall, at 238 10th Avenue North. Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings. Delegations (presentations) are welcome at either Council or Committee of the Whole meetings, with advance notice.
The Committee of the Whole Meetings are where issues are addressed and discussed and recommendations are made to Council. The Committee of the Whole cannot pass resolutions or bylaws. These go to vote at the next Council meeting.
