Additional fees may apply if your planned development is within a Development Cost Charge (DCC) Area. Municipalities impose DCCs on new developments to pay for new or expanded infrastructure such as sewer, water, drainage, parks and roads necessary to service the demands of that new development adequately.
For example, if a new apartment building were constructed, there would likely be more traffic on the street in front of the new apartment building. This creates additional wear and tear on the road. DCCs help offset municipal costs if street and intersection improvements are required because of that development.
To see if your development is located within a DCC Area and the applicable costs contact Town Hall.
