Schedule of 2024 Mill Rates

A mill rate is the rate used to calculate property taxes. It's expressed in mills per dollar of assessed property value. One mill is equal to $1 of tax per $1,000 of assessed property value.

For example, if a property is assessed at $200,000 and the mill rate is 20 mills, the property tax would be $4,000.

Mill rates are set by the local government (like the Town of Creston) and are crucial for funding local services such as schools, roads, police, and fire departments.
