[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Update - October 2, 2020

Creston, BC – October 2, 2020: Creston citizens, on behalf of Town of Creston Council and staff - thank you for all you are doing to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community. In the words of Dr. Bonnie Henry, “By supporting each other to do the right thing, by offering kindness and care to our friends and neighbours, we can protect our communities.” Since March, Creston citizens have done just that. They have supported each other, showed kindness to those who needed help the most, and continue to work so that our vulnerable community members continue to stay safe.  

 

Creston and District Community Complex Pool to Open: The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Community Services is working towards a return to aquatics, as indoor pools in Castlegar, Creston, and Nelson are targeted to open on Tuesday October 13, 2020.  Once opened, users must use a pre-registered reservation process to book space in the community complex. A detailed schedule for the Creston and District Community Complex, will be finalized and shared in the coming weeks. Yard and Garden Waste – Seasonal Free Tipping: During October, the Creston Landfill is accepting yard and garden waste for free. Yard and garden waste means biodegradable, organic material, substances or objects including, but not limited to: hedge clippings, weeds, shrubs, and shrub and tree branches less than 15 centimeters (six inches) in diameter.
