Creston, BC – June 19, 2020: Creston residents, thank you for another week of diligently following the Provincial and Federal health recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community. The Town of Creston’s Emergency Operation Centre continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation, building situational awareness and serving our valued community members. Moving forward, the frequency of our COVID-19 updates will be decreasing, reflecting the status of COVID-19 in our Province. Your cooperation and continued support is very appreciated.
Building BC’s Recovery Together: The Province is developing a recovery plan for BC’s economy after COVID-19 and is working to inform the plan with the input and ideas of BC residents. There are three main ways for people to share their ideas, experiences and priorities:
- An online survey is the fastest and easiest way to provide answers to some important questions and give advice. Visit: http://gov.bc.ca/recoveryideas
- Respond to the paper, Building B.C.’s Recovery, Together: Have Your Say, which was released on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Ideas and responses can be submitted to: recoveryideas@gov.bc.ca
Temporary Rental Supplement: The Government of British Columbia is extending the temporary rental supplement (TRS) until the end of August 2020 to continue to support renters and landlords. It will also maintain the moratorium on rent increases and evictions for non-payment of rent, while enabling other notices to end tenancy to resume. People who have already been approved for the TRS do not need to reapply. They will receive an email asking them to confirm they plan to live at the same address through July and August. New applications will also be accepted until Aug. 31 and will be eligible for a supplement for the month they are received and all subsequent months.
