Creston, BC – June 16, 2020 Yesterday, the Provincial Medical Health Officer noted that the Province is working “to keep COVID-19 low and slow.” The best tools we have to prevent the spread of COVID-19, include physical distancing, practicing good hand hygiene and staying home with any symptoms of cold or flu.

Fields Forward Offering Free COVID-19 Workshop for Orchardists:  Fields Forward is providing free COVID-19 protocol training on Friday June 19 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at the Ramada. To register, please contact AgSafe at 250 342-5704. Space is limited.

 Extension to the Canada Emergency Relief Benefit: The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, announced that the government is extending the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) by eight weeks, to ensure Canadians have the help they need as they transition back to work. This extension will make the benefit available to eligible workers for up to a total of 24 weeks. Creston and District Community Complex is also offering Outdoor Fitness Programming: The Creston and District Community Complex is offering a few outdoor programs with limited class size to ensure the safety of staff and participants. Registration can be done online or over the phone. Phone registration hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (250) 428 7127, or REGISTER HERE.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay announces Summer Outdoor Programs: The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) recreation services will be offering outdoor programs during the summer season. Castlegar, Creston, Nelson, and Salmo are gearing up for a fun filled summer outside. Regional summer programs will include; Boot Camp, Yoga, Red Cross, Home Alone, Children’s Day Camps, Micro Camps, and more.  Program registration will open on June 23 for July and August summer programming.
