The health and safety of our residents and staff remains a priority for the Town of Creston. The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us to think of new ways to continue to provide service excellence to our citizens, without the in-person interaction that many are used to. At this time, Town Hall remains closed to the public but we are committed to providing our taxpayers with solutions that meet payment deadlines while minimizing physical contact.
The informational flyers that were enclosed with the property tax notices are available here .The flyers provide details on the various payment methods and instructions on how to view your tax account online.
For residential taxpayers, there is also information on how to claim your Home Owner’s Grant which reduces the property taxes and can be claimed if the property is your principal residence. The Home Owner’s Grant application must be filled out each year and can be applied for online or the application physically submitted to Town Hall (via mail or the secure drop box located at street level on 10th Ave. N.).
Payment methods include cheques, online through your banking institution, in person at your local bank or credit union and e-transfer. The Town of Creston also accepts credit card payments using OptionPay – a third party payment processor (fees apply).
During this unprecedented time, much has changed however, we want to assure our citizens that they can continue to rely on us for exceptional customer service. If you have any questions about the process or need assistance with any of the payment options, please do not hesitate to reach out to us by calling our office 250-428-2214 or sending an email to info@creston.ca.
