[ARCHIVED] Thinking of burning yard waste?

burning

If you live within Town of Creston limits, you are usually permitted to burn yard waste during the month October (by obtaining a permit). However, this year the Provincial Fire Ban (other than campfires) has not yet been lifted, therefore, the Town will not be issuing burn permits until the ban is lifted.

So, what should you do with your yard waste?

1. The Town of Creston will be conducting their Fall Curbside Yard & Garden Waste Pick-Up the week of October 11-14.

2. The Creston landfill takes yard waste for free in October. Shrubs and tree branches must be less than 6” in diameter. Large loads (larger than 2.5m3 / one truck box) are at the discretion of the site attendant and may be turned away if the site is too full for the day or it looks like it is a commercial load. Plastic and paper bags are NOT accepted at the landfill. Bags must be emptied and not left on location.
