[ARCHIVED] Day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II

The Town of Creston will, without prejudice, be observing Monday, September 19, 2022 as a statutory holiday and day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II, the date of Her Majesty's funeral

A national commemorative ceremony will be held in Ottawa at the Christ Church Cathedral on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022 at 8 a.m. (Pacific Time) 11 a.m. (Eastern Time). The national commemorative ceremony will be broadcast live and available on digital media platforms so all Canadians can participate. An online book of condolences has been created, and people may write messages here: https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/commemoration-her-majesty-the-queen/book.html. 

In British Columbia, a commemorative service will be held in Victoria on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at Christ Church Cathedral. The commemorative service will begin at 11:00 a.m. and a livestream of the event will be available online. Details about this service will be announced on the Provincial Government website.
