Manhole Inspections
Town staff are performing assessments on all manholes in town. The information provided by these assessments will:
  • Allow us to determine the physical condition of the manholes
  • Provide indications of excessive inflow and infiltration i.e. rain and/or groundwater entering into the sewer system
Should you have any questions relating to this program please call the Public Works Department at 250-428-2214, extension 620 for assistance.

Municipal Water Shut-Off Valve (Curb-Stop) Program
Town crews are presently engaged in a program of locating and mapping all town curb stops. The curb stop allows crews to shut off the water to your home should your home water shut-off valve (required by bylaw) fail. A door-hanger will be placed at your home to confirm that your curb stop has been located and tested for functionality.

Please ensure that the curb stop is left accessible at all times. This will assist the town crews to act swiftly in the event of the water supply needing to be turned off in an emergency. Should you be unable to locate your curb stop, please call the Public Works Department at 250-428-2214, extension 620 for assistance.
